BV Panthers History
Berkeley Vale Rugby League & Sports Club Inc.
The club was formed in 1985 and entered the competition in 1987, with 5 competitive sides and approximately 100 players from Under 6s to Under 15s. The Club has expanded greatly in recent years, and is recognised as being one of the strongest Junior Clubs on the Central Coast. The support the Club has built and maintained is exceptional, with the local community being well aware of its strengths and progressive, professional approach to promoting junior sport in the area.
In 1991 the Junior Club saw the need to further its promotion of rugby league in the area, the outcome being the establishment of the Senior body. Junior players would now have a Senior Club to play for, and subsequently a proud goal to strive for once their junior commitments had finished. The same year saw the Senior Club commence its playing time in Second Division, and four years later were promoted to First Division. We are proud to have some 60 past Juniors come through the ranks and progress to playing Grade football with Berkeley Vale.
In Season 2005 we had 11 of our competitive sides (Under 10 to Under 16) involved in the Semi Finals. Of these, 2 continued on to the Grand Finals and our Under 14 Division 1 Black and Under 13 Division 3 teams were victorious. This was again a very successful season for the club where we had 319 registered players.
In Season 2007 we had 20 sides in Under 6's to 16's. The highlight for the club was both our 16's teams winning their respective divions premierships. This bought the club its first Under 16 Division 1 shield, making it this teams 5th premiership in a row, which is a fantastic achievement for any junior team. The team went on to record another Premiership in claiming the under 17's title the following season, making them only the second senior team to take out a Premiership for the Panthers, with our first Senior title achieved by another 17's side, back in 2004.
In 2008, the Junior and Senior Rugby League clubs and Junior Touch Footy merged to form "One" club, plus also opening the door for other sporting codes to join forces and pool resources, which is a must in the these hard economic times. In 2010, Netball became our latest sporting arm to join our family which will only enhance our sporting community and continue to make our club grow and become stronger.
Season 2010 proved to be our Senior Club's most successful season in the clubs history. Not only did we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, our Senior's took out our first ever "Club Championship" with our club recording premiership glory with our 2nd Grade and under 17's sides, plus 1st Grade being Grand Finalists, and our 19's making the final. A very proud year with more to come!!!!!
The development of Rugby League players has been a major highlight for our club over the years with previous players moving up in the game such as Paul Stringer (Norths, Souths & Parramatta, NRL), Adam Ashley-Cooper (Wallabies), Rory Kostjasyn (Roosters, Melbourne, NRL), Brad Baldry (Roosters SG ball & Jersey Flegg) Jason Annear (Manly, NYC), Chris Brady (Canterbury, NYC) & Lincoln Tubridy (Manly, SG Ball). Further names will be added as our juniors continue to thrive with our club providing many players to the various Central Coast teams every season........so stayed tuned!!!
The future looks very bright for our club and with a very hard working committee behind it, our club will continue to be the benchmark for all other sporting codes on the Central Coast.

After every game, get into a huddle with the captain in the middle, the captain will sing one line and the team will repeat it.
